Red Huckleberry Organic
[50 seeds-zaden]

New for 2015! Very rare plant, also called Orange bilberry. Red Huckleberry (Vaccinium parvifolium ) is a deciduous shrub, growing between 1-3m tall. Younger stems are bright green, ridged and sometimes keep their leaves into winter. Yellowish to pink flowers appear in late spring at the base of the leaves with tasty bright red berries ripening in mid-summer.
Fruit are eatable raw or cooked and used in making jams, pies, jellies, wines, etc. The fruit can also be dried for later! Leaves and fruits can be added to tea.

Sow Red Huckleberry seeds mid winter-spring indoors or in a greenhouse. Sow the seeds on firm, moist peat moss-based potting soil that contains sand, pumice, or perlite for drainage and cover with 3mm of clean sand. Mist as frequently as necessary to keep the soil moist but not soaked.
Set the pots in a location with daytime temperatures between 22-28C and night temperatures 10-15C. Seedlings emerge in 4-6 weeks.
Plant outside when seedling big enough.
